Tags represent custom attributes that user assigns to a device to specify its purposes. Devices with a specific tag are selected by choosing option Group by: Tag from drop-down menu available above device tree.

A single device can have more than one tag assigned to it, and, in that case, it will appear in multiple groups.

Creating tags

Step 1     Go to the Overview tab of the device you wish to assign a tag to. Click on the vertical ellipsis symbol in the top right corner, and choose the option Manage Tags from the menu.

Step 2    The Manage Tags pop-up will appear on your screen. In the Select one or more tags field type a new tag's name. Click on the +Add tag option or press Enter.

Step 3     You can add one or more tags by creating new ones or/and assigning already existing ones. Once you have finished, click on the OK button. 

Step 4     Your tags will be shown in the right corner of the Overview tab.


Assigning tags

Besides creating new tags, it is also possible to assign some of the existing ones. To do so, open the Manage Tags pop-up. If you already know the name of the tag you wish to assign, just type the first letter of its name, and choose from the drop-down menu. In case you do not remember the name, click on the down-pointing triangle symbol and select the desired tag. You can choose one or more tags.


Once you have made your selection, click on the OK button and your tags will appear in the right corner of the Overview tab.



Removing tags

There are two way of removing tags depending on the number of tags you want to remove on the device.

Option 1    If you want to remove one or a few tags, go to the device and click on the vertical ellipsis symbol in the top right corner. Choose the option Manage Tags from the menu. Click on the X symbol of the tags you wish to remove. Cancel changes pop-up will emerge, and if you are sure you want to remove the tag, select the OK. Afterwards, click on the OK button of Manage Tags to finalize the procedure.

Option 2     If you want to clear all the tags from the selected device, go to the device and click on the vertical ellipsis symbol in the top right corner. Choose the option Manage Tags from the menu. Click on the Clear all option under the text field of the pop-up. Cancel changes pop-up will emerge, and if you are sure you want to remove the tag, select OK. Afterward, click on the OK button of Manage Tags to finalize the procedure

In case you want to completely remove tag from all the devices, group by tags your exporters. The next step would be to remove the tag from each device as described above.


Supposing you want to reuse the name of once removed tag, please note that all the previously used names are remembered. Just follow the procedure described in the Assigning Tags section.
